Gregg was born on June 10, 1960 in Jackson, Michigan to Ira and Delores (Joseph) Allen and came to Battle Creek at the age of 5. Gregg graduated in 1978 from Springfield High School and went on to Kellogg Community College. He received a Bachelor Degree in Business from Ferris State University and was attending Calvin College in Grand Rapids when his health began to fail. Gregg was extremely intelligent and enjoyed his many years as a college student. Gregg was a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church in Battle Creek. Gregg was a great University of Michigan sports fan, enjoyed concerts especially Bob Segar, Gregg's greatest joy in life was spending time with his loving family. His world revolved around his nieces, Shawna Holt and Lindsay Johnson. He followed their activities at school and in sports whenever he was able. Gregg is survived by his loving sister, Leslie (Skip) Johnson, a brother. Dan (Rebecca) Allen of Brooklyn, Michigan, nephew, Daniel Allen, nieces, Shawna Holt and Lindsay Johnson, and his aunts and uncles and his best friend Janet Ruedy of Atlanta, Michigan. Gregg was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Christopher Allen.
