Alice M. Jennings, 82, of Battle Creek passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2020. She was born March 22, 1937 in Forest City, AR the daughter of Roy and Eartha (Williams) Clay. Alice graduated from Battle Creek Central High School class of 1952. She began her working career in the kitchen at Albion College. Alice attended Lansing Community College and obtained her semi-truck license. She owned and operated her own semi-truck for 5 years. She married A. D. Jennings on September 3, 1983 in Battle Creek. Alice also attended Kellogg Community College and received her degree in Operating Room Technician and was a Ward Clerk while at Community Hospital for 23 years until she retired in 1998. She was a member of the Traveling Stars, Battle Creek chapter of Order of Eastern Star, and First Salem Missionary Baptist Church. Alice enjoyed singing, the outdoors, camping, fishing, traveling, watching Westerns, and going out to eat.
She is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews, and great great great nieces and nephews; and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers; three sisters; four nieces; and seven nephews.
Visitation will be held at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service on Sunday, January 19th from 2:00-4:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at First Salem Missionary Baptist Church on Monday at 11:00 AM with a visitation an hour prior with Pastor Leon Coleman III officiating. Burial will follow at Bedford Cemetery in Bedford Township, MI.
