Obituary

Nancy Shirlene Shafe, age 72, of Battle Creek, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home in Battle Creek on Friday, February 7, 2020.
She was born July 5, 1947 in Battle Creek, MI the daughter of Tommy Reed and Emily Nancy (Rummel) Reed.
She had worked as a laboratory technician for 25 years with the Battle Creek Post Cereal Company where she retired from in 2002. She was a member of the Post 25 Year Club.
Nancy graduated from Gull Lake High School in 1965. She had married Raymond K. Shafe on May 12, 1979 in Battle Creek; however their marriage ended in divorce.
Surviving: her daughter: Teresa Marie (Corey) Davis of Battle Creek, MI; two sons: Jonathan D. Rodgers of Battle Creek and Randy W. Wallace also of Battle Creek, MI; five grandchildren: Jacob Jackson; Kelsie Wagaman; Brandon Wallace; Corey Shaffer and Lucas Davis; and two great grandchildren: Kadin Wagaman and Emmett Jackson. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She was raised in the Pentecostal faith; she loved watching Lifetime on television, drinking cans of Coke, taking day trips with her family to South Haven and spending time with her family. She would always put her family first. She was a member of the United Cereal, Bakery and food workers Union local 374.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Visitation will be Thursday an hour prior to the Memorial service. Memorial services will be held in the Bachman Funeral Chapel on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at 3:00 PM with Pastor Shannon Whaples officiating. Cremation has been conducted. Memorial tributes may be made to: Woodland Church, 14425 South Helmer Road, Battle Creek, MI. Arrangements by the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service, Battle Creek a member by invitation Selected Independent Funeral Homes.
