Obituary for Jack Thomas Snyder

Jack Thomas Snyder, 17, of Battle Creek, was tragically taken from this world on Friday, February 17, 2023. He was born August 28, 2005 in Kalamazoo, MI the son of Kevin and Theresa (Krzyzanski) Snyder. Jack was a senior at Battle Creek Central High School. He was well-rounded and didn’t mind giving things a try to see if they were for him. He participated in marching band and swimming for a number of years, but not currently. Jack’s true passion was soccer. The students and faculty described Jack as light-hearted, charismatic, athletic, and humorous. One whom left an indelible mark on all that met him.

Jack was a member of the National Honor Society, The American Red Cross, and Link Crew. Jack was enrolled in the EMT program through Kellogg Community College and was in the process of applying for GVSU. During Jack’s freshman year of high school, he proposed to his parents that they should welcome an exchange student in to their home and be apart of the Exchange Program. Shortly after, Jack and his family added Ivan Sanchez from Spain to their home. Jack in-turn joined the program and spent time in Spain.

Jack loved music (all genres) and loved to draw/sketch and was really good at it. He took pride in how he looked, dressed, and kept his room. Jack didn’t leave the house without looking “drippy”, as he would say. Jack had a zest for life and made the world a better place with his care and love for everyone. He loved spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his parents, Kevin and Theresa; sisters: Meadow (Carter Lima) Snyder and Brooklyn Pryor; brother, Liam Snyder; paternal grandparents: Keith Snyder and Bobbie Boggio; maternal grandmother, Barbara Cummings; his world and love of his life, Merealen Valencia; closest friends: Maceo and Max; and many loved aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Richard Krzyzanski.
