Obituary for Vernon Henry
Vernon O Henry left this life and went home to be with the Lord on February 15th. Vernon was the son of Charles E. Henry, and Ruby Scott Henry, Vernon was a lifelong resident of Battle Creek Michigan. He was a graduate of the class of 1950 from Battle Creek Central HS. For many years Vernon had his own Hauling Business. After retiring from his business, he worked for The Old Bakery, and many years at the Continental Bakery. He loved his friends, family, and his model trains.
Vernon leaves to cherish his memory his wife of over 66 years, Helen Henry; daughter, Vallebeth Henry Hairston (Alfred/Spooney); Son, Larry Henry (Lesa); grandsons, Zavier Hairston, Ryan Henry, and Caleb Henry; Great-grandchildren, Rylee, Raelyn, and Ryan Jr; Niece, Marylou Simmons, and Nephew Trent Taylor, and special friend Jeano Williams who were a great help to him.
Vernon was preceded in death by Charles E, and Ruby Henry, Charles Jr, William (Bill), Pete, Robert (Bob), and sister, Evelyn Atkinson.
Vernon also had a host of nieces and nephews whom he loved very much.
A funeral service will be held on March 3, 2023 at the Maranatha Original Church of God in Battle Creek starting at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation one hour prior. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery directly following ther Funeral Service. Arrangements are by Bachman Hebble Funeral Services.
